Kutta Kisko Bola.
Essentially a mapping exercise, Kutta Kisko Bola was woven out of curiosity. The journey down the rabbit hole which spiralled into a full-fledged adventure! Street animals are noticed walking around the locality so often. Little does one know about the fascinating lives they live in a surrounding they own, call home and explore through their lives.
Kutta Kisko Bola (Did you call me a Dog?!) is considered a reflex comeback for a derogatory remark when a human calls another fellow human a Dog. Well, not for these superstars! Amidst adversities, they live their lives to the fullest, and how!

The circulation paths were video-graphed, the camera being at the level of the animal, rendering a simulation of what the dog experiences when he navigates.
The selection of dogs was based on these key factors, varying location from south Mumbai up to north Mumbai, allowing a spectrum of living conditions; their unique characteristics, their history.
The Mumbai Mapping
Animal paths
The mapping exercises involved observing the animals through days to understand their movement patterns, pause points, resting points, covered / open to sky preferences at different times of the day and night. The paths and pauses were then articulated through an illustrative circulation diagram helping us understand their interesting lives in the urban environment crafted by humans.
Illustratives.
The precinct as well as the resting points were minutely articulated through a creative lens by the BlueInkBlog. Initiated in 2012 by architect Fatema Master with the idea to simply storytelling through illustrative documentation. The BlueInkBlog is Fatema’s essays without words, where her day to day life adventures and unorthodox travel memories are translated into BlueInked drawings.
